No German rock, no pretentious pop, no punk rock—and comparisons to Stuttgart’s tiny scene fall flat. The album is a monolith, a statement, a maverick. “The end, Machine God, nothing can stop us now…” It has something of a concept album about it, without explicitly claiming to be one—thick walls of guitar, noise rock, industrial-style drums that drive endlessly forward.
