This band’s second album could become a genre milestone. The use of tried and tested elements is celebrated with stylistic confidence, but in a thoroughly unusual, innovative and unique way. Recognizable, innovative, different, exciting. A band that is so heavy, but plays its riffs without a bass, is (self-)consciously setting an example and doesn’t need to shy away from comparisons. Despite all the heaviness, the production remains transparent. Psychedelic guitar walls, noisy shimmering guitar sounds, heavy riffs and at the same time the lightness and floating melodies that already characterized BLACK LUNG on their debut could well set new standards.
