Scumbucket - Aficionados CD

One should be careful with the term cult, but with this band we're getting very close. The Koblenz-based band formed in 1996 and within a very short time and after only 6 studio days, the band itself released its first album in a limited edition.

With their fourth album Aficionados, the Troisdorf trio has once again succeeded in hitting the big time. Alternative rock is becoming more and more modern psychedelic with great songs and sounds and, most importantly, without synthesizers. Scumbucket has never cared about what's hot right now. Kurt Ebelhäuser writes the songs he wants, and that's a good thing.

The guitars on Aficionados may sound a little lighter than on the predecessor Finistra, the influence of the Beatles gives way to that of the early Pink Floyd. Scumbucket always take the listener into their own little cosmos, in which traditional song structures dissolve and the gentlemen weave their very own tapestry of sound. An album that doesn't fit into its time at all, and that's why it's not only good, but also important.
