BLACK LUNG’s signature elements are once again masterfully showcased—in a way that’s so unfamiliar, intense, and innovative that one must push the boundaries of genre to find the right words. A band that delivers such heavy riffs without a bass guitar makes a bold statement with confidence and has no need to shy away from comparisons. Despite the sheer heaviness, the production remains transparent. Psychedelic walls of guitar pile up to infinity; noisy, shimmering guitar sounds, heavy riffs, and at the same time that lightness and soaring melodies that already distinguished BLACK LUNG on their debut could very well set new standards.
