An Israeli meets a Dutchman in Berlin, and they make music. What sounded like a bad bar joke or a 90s Berlin hipster career a year ago is increasingly becoming one of the capital’s most exciting music projects.

DEAD KITTENS are… noise rock with melody? Avant-garde core? Post-punk without a rearview mirror and without a retro patina? Their sound is current and contemporary, without being too tied to any particular scene. It has DIY charm because it’s DIY to the extreme. Learning by doing, creating by playing. DEAD KITTENS are full of joy in playing. But at the same time, they’re angry and critical. It’s highly emotional, razor-sharp, but above all polarizing and—let’s call it—questioning punk.
