Splinter – Alles kaputt – EP
“Alles kaputt” is a musical reboot for the quartet from Leiden, Netherlands, who started out with retro rock on KADAVER’s own label, then presented a colorful bubblegum rock variation on their second album, and now seem to have broken everything down in order to put it back together in a surprisingly different way.
Songs that Dave Vanian could hardly sing better, the dark side of punk meets the usual delicate guitars and keyboards, sometimes reminiscent of The Stranglers, sometimes of The Doors, all in a fresh and contemporary sound.
SPLINTER seem to have found their niche and present epic pop anthems with safety pins in their hair. Songs that never lose sight of the dance floor – and anyone who has ever seen the band and frontman Douwe knows what we’re talking about. A journey from 70s rock to early 80s leather jacket punk with plenty of wave in their blood and, above all, a flair for entertainment.
